A wide-open recreation lake in the oak foothills near Wheatland β boating, fishing, jet skiing, swimming, and lakeside camping on the Bear River.
Tucked into the rolling oak country east of Wheatland, Camp Far West Lake spreads across the Bear River foothills β miles of warm, open water framed by green hills and big California skies. Whether you're launching a boat at dawn, casting for bass, carving the lake on a jet ski, or just claiming a shady spot to swim, there's room to spread out β then settle in for a night under the stars at one of two lakeside campgrounds.
